Andre & Virginia Bally

Andre and Virginia founded BALLY STUDIOS in 1994 and their partnership has been greatly influenced by the cultures and design motifs of the traditional Japanese Potters as well as the North American Indian Potters. Along with a diverse Art and Design background, these influences are reflected in the design and finishes of their work. This, fused with long hours of research, trial and error, makes each piece they produce completely unique.

A graduate of Texas A&M University, Andre also spent a year studying art at Sam Houston State University.  While working at A & M, he worked for the University’s Craft Center where he began researching and experimenting with ceramics, glass and metal as a personal interest. Now after more than thirty years, Andre produces works in each medium, combining them for unique results. However, he admits his first love continues to be clay. Andre’s work can be found on exhibit in private collections in Canada, Europe, North Africa and the United States.

Virginia received her Associates Degree in Fine Arts, with honors from North Harris County College. Her major study was in ceramics.  She was a featured artist in the 1991 Juried Student Art Exhibit and was awarded a scholarship on the strength of her work.  Virginia’s work can be found on exhibit in private collections in Canada, Europe, North Africa and the United States.
