Barbara Blaschke

As a child, I loved rocks.  My father’s job as a petroleum engineer took me to many locations and I amassed an amazing rock collection.  As an adult, I gave the collection away, and forgot about the rocks until attending my first bead show.  There was Amethyst, Jasper, Agates, Turquoise — I was hooked!

This year I took a lapidary (rock cutting and polishing) course from Michael Boyd, a nationally recognized jeweler.  Now I'm cutting my own stones as well as altering purchased stones in ways that enhance their beauty.  This is an exciting step for me and one I hope will result in jewelry that is bold and beautiful.
